At Van der Plas Sprouts, sustainability and innovation are central. All our sprouts are grown without additives, entirely in water – a cultivation method known as hydroponics. 

We grow both organic and conventional sprouts. The difference lies in the seed selection: for our organic sprouts, we use 100% certified organic seeds. For conventional cultivation, we use only GMO-free seeds.

Thanks to this approach, we deliver a natural, honest product – with minimal impact on people and the environment. And we're proud of that.

Happy Sprouts began recycling old work shoes and boots in 2025. Fast Feet Grinded in Heerhugowaard processes them into usable raw materials. This could be furniture, playground equipment, or even new shoes. This reduces CO2 emissions and the demand for new raw materials, contributing to a more sustainable future. In doing so, we're changing the current recycling process for approximately 24 billion pairs of shoes.

At Happy Sprouts, we encourage an active lifestyle among our employees. Exercise boosts energy, contributes to a better night's sleep, and strengthens team spirit. That's why we sponsor various sports clubs and events in the region, such as the Spruitjescup in Langedijk. We also have our own Running Team that regularly participates in running competitions, often with a social purpose.
